Sarcoma!

My attending presented me with a two-foot long segment of colon. While I looked at it, the attending pimped me, "So, what's wrong with this colon?" I then realized the colon was twitching and moving around in my hands and knew the answer straightaway, as only one tumor had enough muscle to keep twitching after it had been removed from the patient. I exclaimed, "sarcoma!", and was right.

(Note: sarcomas do NOT twitch in real life.)

Surgical pathology begins

I started this blog at the end of medical school wondering if the content and caliber of my usually bizarre dreams would change as I embarked into the world of residency in pathology. After a particularly dry (dream-wise) several months, I have finally started my surgical pathology rotations, and unsuprisingly, my dreams have taken a screechingly immediate turn to the surreal and macabre.

As I share these even more twisted dreams to my (three to five) readers, I warn you that the content and attached links may themselves be surreal and macabre. Especially the links -- I'm warning you now. Proceed with caution, and welcome back to my blog, phase two.
